NewsMLA: Public Expense Reports Are Fair And Overdue
West Kootenay NDP MLA Katrine Conroy says she supports the Legislative Assembly Management Committee's move to make expense reports public.
This after a very unfavourable audit from Auditor General John Doyle that showed a lack of basic accounting in the Legislature.
She says they've always been really supportive of Doyle's work and they're looking forward to working with him on this issue to ensure transparency. She feels public expense reporting will increase public confidence and says it's taken too long to come to this point of accountability.
Conroy says her office has always worked towards being transparent and accountable and it's important that all MLAs continue to improve openess and maintain the public's trust.
