The city of Trail is delighted with the expansion plans of Pacific Coastal Airlines who next month will introduce a third return trip to Vancouver most days.

And city councillor Robert Cacchioni acknowledges the need for improvements that are on the airline's wish-list, like a proper terminal building and longer runway.

He says those are in the pipeline but not on the immediate agenda.

Cacchioni adds the 6:20 evening flight to Vancouver Sunday to Friday is good for daily business commuters.

But he says it also gives the airline flexiblity in poor weather because any issues the airport does have spring to fall are in the mornings.
