The first of 30 new live webcams to be installed in BC this year are up and running at the Kootenay Lake ferry.
Marine manager Bryan Coe says the cameras offer an excellent real-time image of the line-up areas at Balfour and Kootenay Bay.
Coe says motorists will be able to make an informed choice to go on the ferry or head for the pass.
He says the cameras will also help him deploy staff on one either side of the crossing depending on demand.
