Bombi Wash Out Repaired

It took seven weeks to repair but the highway over the Bombi Pass between Castlegar and Salmo is finally fixed.
Emcon's Joe Mottishaw says the heavy rains certainly delayed things but they've now completed the repair using over 13,000 cubic metres of rock to strengthen the main foundation area. A perforated pipe has also been inserted within the fill to take away any groundwater that may accummulate.
Half the roadway slipped down the mountain side in late April.
