NewsTrans-Canada Trail Applauds Teck Donation
We could see shovels in the ground as early as next year on the incomplete sections of the Trans Canada Trail in our region.
That's the word from National director Jane Murphy.
She's speaking following Teck's announcement Thursday of a million dollar donation to work on sections linking the West and East Kootenay. She says local trails organisations will be consulted by Trail's BC.
Murphy says TCT is delighted with Teck's million dollar donation as it is one of the first in a drive by them to raise $ 75-million from private donors. That will help complete the national trail by 2017 which is Canada's 150th birthday.
