NewsRossland House Fire
Some details have been released concerning the fire Tuesday afternoon in Rossland.
Regional Fire Chief Terry Martin says there was also an explosion at the home on Maple Crescent . 911 dispatch received numerous calls and the fire was active when crews arrived.
The majority of the blaze was contained to the garage, however there is extensive damage to the roof and into the house.
Martin says the main portion of the home is salvageable. The family's young son was home at the time of the explosion but was uninjured and called 9-1-1 to get things rolling.
The cause is unknown and an investigation is expected to begin this morning.
