Nelson Fireworks Rescheduled For BC Day Weekend

Wednesday, July 4, 2012 - 12:38 PM

No date is set in stone at this time, but the Nelson and District Chamber of Commerce is looking at rescheduling the Canada Day Celebrations.

Executive Director Tom Thomson says they will definitely be doing the fireworks, but possibly also a larger evening event with a bbq and bands for example.  The event, big or small, will be held over the BC Day long weekend.

Thomson says the Canada Day Celebrations cost the Chamber about $12,000.  That includes the fireworks, which are already paid for and also a lot of hard costs.

Thomson says the event will likely be held on the Saturday or Sunday night over that August holiday weekend.
