WK Eco Society Decries BC Carbon Tax Review

Local environmentalists are joining the chorus of disappointment about the carbon tax announcement in Tuesday's BC budget.

The government will increase the tax on gas this July 1st as expected but after that they will review the policy.

David Reid with the West Kootenay Eco Society says its a step back for the province and the planet.

The government says it's putting the carbon tax on hold because other provinces and the United States nave not followed through on pledges to impose a carbon tax themselves.
