Local Credit Unions Eyeing Strike Action

Strike action looks like a possiblity at the local Heritage Credit Union and HG Insurance branches in Castlegar and Slocan Park.
The United Steelworkers says talks have failed to produce a contract that includes compensation or some sort of redress for changes made to the pensions in 2010.
In a media release local 1-405 President Doug Singer says the bargaining committee will meet with the workers one more time prior to issuing 72-hour strike notice.
There are 35 members at the two local branches.
