Nelson police arrested two people in seperate incidents after they spat on officers.
Police responded to the Chakho Mika mall on Monday where a man refused to leave the premises. The suspect - who is known to the NPD - fled the scene, but was later located. The 26 year old was eventually detained under the mental health act before spitting in an officer's face. He was subsequently charged with assault to an officer.
Then, in the early hours of Wednesday morning police were called to Fairview after a report of a domestic disturbance. An intoxicated 29 year old male was arrested for alleged assault of his wife. He became aggresive and spat on an officer resulting in further charges being laid.
