A Castlegar man has had a miraculous escape after his vehicle left the road on the highway just outside Nelson.
RCMP say his pick-up truck plunged down over 100-feet of rocky terrain Sunday afternoon near Granite Road before coming to rest near the CPR tracks.
The 38 year old, who police say apparently fell asleep behind the wheel, suffered only minor injuries.
He was wearing a seatbelt.
