Open Fire Ban Continues

Friday, October 5, 2012 - 1:34 PM

Don't be fooled by the cooler temperatures.

The South East Fire Centre is reminding residents that drought-like conditions persist and the wildfire danger remains high, so open-burning is still prohibited.

Fire Information Officer Karli Shaughnessy says they've had to deal with 16 outdoor burning situations around the region. There is still a ban on burning piled material, stubble and grass and if you do that can result in a ticket and fine.

Small campfires are allowed.
