NewsATV Tragedy Near Nelson
A 4 year old boy is dead after an ATV accident near Nelson.
He was a passenger with his 33 year old step dad on the Mid Slope Forest Service Road West of Nelson Sunday afternoon at about 2pm.
RCMP Staff Sergeant Dan Seibel says the ATV hit a drainage ditch that was across the roadway and flipped end over end, landing on the two riders. The 33 year old man suffered a broken back, leg, and wrist and the boy was pronounced dead on the scene.
Both were wearing helmets and an investigation is ongoing.
