Council thanks RCMP, Search and Rescue

Wednesday, March 6, 2013 - 12:51 PM

Castlegar City Council are thanking the unsung heroes for their efforts in finding 19 year old Jesse Wright.

Council agreed this week to send a letter to local RCMP and Search and Rescue after their three days of intense effort last month to find Wright.

Councillor Sue Heaton Sherstobitoff says they went above and beyond and Council wants to express the community's appreciation.   She says we can't be a community without the RCMP and local search and rescue people: no matter the time of day or year, or the weather, they're always there to help people.

Wright had lost his bearings in the mountains west of Nancy Greene on Highway 3.  RCMP eventually found him held up in a cabin.
